About Hansen Mortuaries
At Hansen Mortuaries & Cemetery, we focus on helping the living succe
ssfully navigate that crucial time between the event of death and the onset of grief – or the “acute loss period.”
The most important decision for people during this difficult time isn’t burial or cremation, it is rather to fully understand how their choices impact the emotional, relational and spiritual well-being of those who have cared for, loved and shared life with their loved one.
Our mission is to take the mystery out of what to do when a loved one dies, and focus instead on how to maximize the benefits from each stage of the acute loss period so you can grieve, grow, heal and continue to love.
In 1950, Chester and Jan Hansen first started operations in the funeral business in Phoenix, Arizona. Today, the business is owned by the second generation of the Hansen family, Rae Jeanne Repella, Brad Hansen, Craig Hansen and Trish Hansen-Kerr.
The Hansen family has expanded their father’s business from the existing location, Hansen Mortuary Chapel, in North Phoenix on 7th Street to also include Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale.
This is a family business directed by core values established by Chester which includes Integrity for the deceased, Care for the family and Charity to the community they live in.
Hansen Mortuaries were recognized as the Funeral Home of the Year in 2006 and 2007, a Spirit of Philanthropy Award, 2008 and a Health Care Hero Award in 2009.
